Wednesday 2 March

1st block English 11:

Today we watched segments of the HBO miniseries "John Adams," then we read Abigail Adams's letter from the White House.

2nd block English 10:

We worked on the packet for Antigone scenes 3-5.

3rd block English 10:

We finished reading Antigone. Then we worked on and finished the packet for scenes 3-5.


It's been a great pleasure to be your teacher for these past weeks. Thus ends my blog for these classes.

1st block English 11:  We read the Declaration of Independence and the Speech in the Virginia Convention.

2nd block English 10: Today we read Antigone from Ode III to the end.

 3rd block English 10: Today we read Antigone from Ode III to the beginning of Scene 5.

Monday 29 February

1st block English 11:

Today we turned in the projects over The Crucible as well as all makeup work. Then we worked on the unit vocabulary packet to turn in today.

2nd & 3rd block English 10:

After motivation Monday, during which we discussed what motivates you and the four tendencies, we read Scene 3 of Antigone and then worked on the Greek Drama packet to turn in.

Thursday and Friday 25-26 February

1st Block English 11

Thursday:

We read Benjamin Franklin's Autobiography and selection of aphorisms from Poor Richard's Almanac from the textbook. Students were to illustrate one of the aphorisms and tie it in to two of Franklin's virtues.


Friday:

Work day on The Crucible projects. DUE MONDAY!



2nd and 3rd Block English 10

We read the first part of Antigone (Prologue through Scene 2). We had a packet of worksheets that we worked on that were due on Friday by the end of class.

1st block: Worked on two worksheets to begin the unit on early American lit. Then we read the intro to Benjamin Franklin's "Autobiography" and read to just past the 13 virtues list.

2nd block: Work day: "Elements of Drama" packet

3rd block: Read intro to drama unit, then intro to Greek/Western drama. Worked on packet "Elements of Drama."

1st block: Finished watching the film The Crucible. Received handout about Crucible Project.

2nd and 3rd blocks: Worked in class on writing essay over The Odyssey: Is Odysseus an epic hero?
